Here I was all ready to fire-off a nightly rant when I find myself eating crow. I was getting tired of those who seemed to worship the colleges that can/choose to afford Stamats (*cough* Furman *cough*). I think Stamats does okay with print materials, and their presentations at conferences have frequently been informative. However, their own website always seemed very weak to me. It looked dated and a little garish with the complementary purple and yellow color scheme, and the source was full of table-based layouts and seemingly unorganized script tags. Some of the web pieces in their portfolio seem decent, but I have to admit that the Engage Furman site shares the kind of garish, dated quality. It lacks a certain smoothness. Just this morning I told bossman that I didn’t see why Stamats was so respected for their web work.

But going over to their site just now and what do I find? A very attractive and pretty much compliant redesigned site. Looks like I wasn’t the only one with a redesign itch. Nice job, Stamats.
