Celebrating 5000 Spam Comments

After nearly 6 months, 70 blog entries, and 95 legitimate comments, I’m pleased to anounce that erelevant has garnered a truly amazing 5,000 spam comments. It’s nice to know that I will always have such an incredible selection of sources for various prescription drugs, organ enlargement procedures, loans, stock tips, and even high quality computer viruses!

Fortunately, Akismet has caught all but perhaps 20–that’s %99.6! If only Spam Assasin on our mail server was as effective.

I’ve returned from a fantastic month in the trenches of novel writing. I’ve got a lot of fun things to share in the world of higher ed web as we head into winter. Learning DOM scripting, a redesign, rebuilding a custom CMS from scratch–it’s going to be a fun couple months.

(I really do have a Marketing for Dummies book that I picked up for free… sometimes I make my students read it when I’m feeling a little sadistic. We save Michel Foucault for when I’m feeling downright mean.) I’ve been working on brainstorming branding and doing a website audit. There’s change in the wind here at Wilson, and I’m drunk on it.
